SUPERLATIVES

  • We use the superlative when we are comparing one person or thing with more than one other in the same group.
  • The definite artical "the" is used before a superlative in a phrase or sentence












Examples:
  • Tom is the tallest boy in their class.
  • Today is the coldest day of the year.
  • This is the least expensive car of all.
We can use a relative clause after a superlative
  • This is the most delicious food I have ever eaten
  • She is the fattest girl I have ever met
