with"just", "already" and "by the time"

By the time I got home, my husband had already prepared the dinner

Daha önceki dersimizde Past Perfect Tense ile kullanılan "after", "when", "before" ve "until" bağlaçları ile yapılandırılan cümle kalıplarını incelemiştiniz. Bu dersimizde de "by the time" bağlaçları ile yapılandırılan cümle yapılarını inceleyeceksiniz. Ayrıca Present Perfect Tense’de olduğu gibi Past Perfect Tense'de de kullanılan "just" ve "already" zaman zarfları ile yapılandırılan cümleleri inceleyeceksiniz.

"by the time" 'zaman' bağlacının iki ayrı cümleyi birbirlerine bağlama özelliği bulunmaktadır oysaki "already" ve "just" zaman zarflarının cümleleri birbirlerine bağlama gibi bir özelliği bulunmamaktadır.
Aşağıdaki diyaloğu inceleyiniz. Diyalogdaki Past Perfect Tense kullanımına dikkat ediniz.

DIALOGUE 1 :

• Ted : Did you enjoy the movie last week?
  (Geçen haftaki filmi beğendin mi?)
  
  
• Sandy : I don’t know.
  (Bilmiyorum.)
  

• Ted : What do you mean?
  (Ne demek istiyorsun?)
  You went to the movie last week with Mert, didn’t you?
  (Sen geçen hafta Mert’le sinemaya gittin, değil mi?
  

• Sandy : Yes, I did. But I didn’t watch the movie?
  (Evet gittim. Fakat filmi seyretmedim.)
  

• Ted : Why?
  (Neden?)
  

• Sandy : The movie had already finished when we arrived at the cinema.
  (Sinemaya gittiğimizde film çoktan bitmişti.)
  

• Ted : Why were you so late?
  (Neden o kadar geç kaldınız?)
  

• Sandy : I had just started to tidy up my room when Mert invited me to the cinema.
  (Mert beni sinemaya davet ettiğinde odamı toplamaya yeni başlamıştım.)

  Then we went to the cinema.

  By the time we arrived at the cinema the movie had already finished.

• Sandy : Ted, I’m very busy now. Can we talk about the last week later?

Aşağıdaki örnekleri inceleyiniz. İki ayrı Simple Past cümlenin "by the time" bağlacı ile nasıl birleştirilerek birinin Past Perfect Tense diğerinin ise Simple Past Tense cümlesi olarak kaldığına dikkat ediniz. Unutmayınız ki Past Perfect Tense cümleler geçmişte yapılmış iki eylemden daha önce yapılanı ifade eder.

• My husband prepared the dinner. Then I got home.
  By the time I got home, my husband had already prepared the dinner.
  (Eve geldiğimde, eşim çoktan akşam yemeğini hazırlamıştı.)
  

• The concert started. Then I got there.
  By the time I got there, the concert had already started.
  (Oraya ulaştığımda konser çoktan başlamıştı.)
  

• The train left. Then I got to the station.
  The train had left by the time I got to the station.
  (İstasyona geldiğimde tren gitmişti.)
  

• He ate all the chocolate cake. Then we got home.
  He had eaten all the chocolate cake by the time we got home.
  (Eve geldiğimizde çukulatalı kekin hepsini yemişti.)
  

• The rain started. I went out for a walk.
  The rain had started by the time I went out for a walk.
  (Yürüyüşe çıktığımda yağmur yağmaya başlamıştı.)
  

☞ "by the time" bağlacı ile genellikle "already" zaman zarfının kullanımı yaygındır.

Aşağıdaki örnekleri inceleyiniz. Örneklerdeki cümlelerin "when" bağlacı ile nasıl birbirlerine bağlandıklarına dikkat ediniz. Ayrıca "already" zaman zarfının Past Perfect Tense kullanımının, Present Perfect Tense’deki kullanımı ile aynı olduğuna dikkat ediniz.

• She cooked the dinner. Then the guests came.
  She had already cooked the dinner when the guests came.
  (Misafirler geldiğinde yemeği çoktan hazırlamıştı.)
  

• The concert finished. Then I arrived at the station.
  The concert had already finished when I arrived at the stadium.
  (Stadyuma geldiğimde konser çoktan bitmişti.)
  

• My sister prepared the breakfast. Then I got up.
  My sister had already prepared the breakfast when I got up this morning.
  (Bu sabah kalktığımda kız kardeşim kahvaltıyı çoktan hazırlamıştı.)
  

Aşağıdaki örnekleri inceleyiniz. Örneklerdeki cümlelerin "when" bağlacı ile nasıl birbirlerine bağlandıklarına dikkat ediniz. Ayrıca "just" zaman zarfının Past Perfect Tense kullanımının, Present Perfect Tense’deki kullanımı ile aynı olduğuna dikkat ediniz.

• The match had just finished when Tom arrived.
  (Tom geldiğinde maç yeni bitmişti.)
  

• The film had just started when Mary and Mike entered the cinema.
  (Mary ve Mike sinemaya girdiklerinde film yeni başlamıştı.)
  

• I had just learned swimming when I sailed on a boat last summer.
  (Geçen yaz tekneyle açıldığımda yüzmeyi yeni öğrenmiştim.)
  
  

Bu dersimizde şimdiye kadar "by the time" bağlacı ile Past Perfect Tense ve Simple Past Tense cümleciklerini birleştirerek kurulan cümleleri incelediniz. Ayrıca "already" ve "just" zaman zarflarının "when" bağlacı ile birleştirilen Simple Past Tense ve Past Perfect Tense cümle yapılarında kullanımını incelediniz. Bu bağlaçlar ile birleştirilen ve bu zaman zarflarının kullanıldığı cümle yapıları da aşağıdaki gibidir. İnceleyiniz.

"BY THE TIME" (time conjuction)

"ALREADY" (time adverb)

"JUST" (time adverb)

Yukarıdaki açıklamalardan da anlayacağınız gibi "already" ve "just" zaman zarfları sadece "when" bağlacı ile oluşturulan cümle yapılarında kullanılır. "when" bağlacı ile ilgili ayrıntılı bilgi için bakınız.

Hatırlarsanız düzenli fiillerin ikinci ve üçüncü hâlleri sonlarına (–d) takısının getirilmesi ile oluşur. Ancak düzensiz fiil yapılarında durum farklılaşır. Düzensiz fiillerin birinci, ikinci ve üçüncü hâllerini içeren liste için bakınız.
