An adjective describes the person, thing, etc
We use adjectives to say what a person or a thing is like or seems like
- Age ............................ : an old man; a young woman,
- Colour .......................: a white lion; brown hair; green eyes,
- Origin........................ : Turkish delight; a German car
- Quality...................... : a perfect game; beautiful shoes
- Shape........................ : a round table; square pants
- Size............................. : a short man; a big car
- Temperature........... : a cool day; a hot afternoon
- Idea............................ : Professor Einstein's hypothesis was fascinating
Many adjectives can answer the question What ..... like?
- What is he like? - He is tall / fat / handsome / kind / clever

Examples:

an old man ..........Tom is old .....................He is old .............He is an old man
a young woman ..Sarah is young .............She is young ......She is a young woman
short trees ..........These trees are short ..They are short ...They are short trees
